Mia Davis Appointed as Chief Impact Officer at Atmosphera to Lead Sustainability Initiatives

Atmosphera, a luxury skincare brand emerging from Canada, has recently named Mia Davis as its new Chief Impact Officer. This strategic appointment signals the company's unwavering commitment to sustainability within the flourishing North American skincare industry, valued at an impressive $34 billion. Mia Davis, a renowned figure in the beauty sector with a rich background in sustainability advocacy, is poised to lead Atmosphera's efforts in transforming how the brand incorporates safety, responsible sourcing, and social impact into its business model.

Davis, who previously held significant positions with Credo Beauty and Beautycounter, brings years of experience to the table, including her role as Chief Impact Officer at Ollie—a pet food company focused on responsible sourcing and environmental sustainability. Under her leadership, Ollie made commendable strides in sustainability initiatives, which included responsible sourcing programs and crucial assessments of greenhouse gas emissions. This experience equips her with the knowledge and expertise needed to drive Atmosphera’s impact strategy effectively.

The mission of Atmosphera is clearly aligned with Davis's philosophy of setting new, more responsible standards within the beauty and skincare sectors. "Atmosphera is on a mission to set new standards in the skin care and beauty space," stated Katelyn Rousselle, the brand's Founder and Owner. With Davis at the helm of the Chief Impact Officer position, there is optimism surrounding the company’s ability to execute its vision for a safer and more sustainable future.

Mia Davis has previously contributed significantly to the beauty industry by authoring the Credo Clean Standard™, a benchmark that demands high safety standards and environmentally friendly practices. Notably, she established the Sustainable Packaging Guidelines, which effectively eliminated single-use packaging within the organization and mandated the inclusion of at least 50% recycled content in plastic packaging. Her co-founding of Pact Collective—a nonprofit focused on promoting responsible packaging practices within the beauty sector—demonstrates her forward-thinking approach to industry challenges.

Throughout her extensive career, she also played an essential role in the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, advocating against toxic ingredients in cosmetics and personal care. Not to mention her impactful tenure at Beautycounter, where she helped foster a culture focused on safer ingredients and effective policy engagement.

Davis is excited about her new role and the possible impact it can create. "The beauty industry has an enormous influence on our culture, and on the economy and environment," she commented. "Atmosphera is committed to holistic, long-term responsibility; we know that brands can do well while doing better than the status quo. I'm looking forward to building systems that focus on safety and sustainability and steering the industry toward a more circular direction."

Atmosphera's dual Co-Chief Executive Officers, Christi Hucks and Katya Johnson, expressed confidence in Davis's abilities. Hucks highlighted her instrumental role in shaping clean beauty dynamics, while Johnson emphasized her perfect blend of ambition and execution skills as essential for guiding the brand's impact initiatives.

As Mia Davis steps into her new role at Atmosphera, all eyes will be on her efforts to lead the company in innovating sustainable practices throughout the skincare industry, setting a new standard for responsible beauty. With a clear focus on sustainability and social responsibility, Atmosphera is poised to redefine the relationship between beauty and the environment—emphasizing that luxury and eco-consciousness can harmoniously coexist.
