Monroe University 93rd Commencement Ceremony
On June 12, 2026, Monroe University proudly hosted its 93rd Annual Commencement Ceremony at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in Midtown Manhattan. This prestigious event celebrated the accomplishments of 2,023 students from the Class of 2026, who were conferred various degrees including Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, as well as professional and advanced certificates. In addition to these graduates, 1,276 students who are set to complete their requirements this summer also participated in the celebration, making the atmosphere electrifying with pride and anticipation.
The event was divided into two ceremonies to allow ample space for families and friends to share in the graduates' celebratory moment. The morning ceremony recognized students from Monroe's School of Allied Health Professions, School of Business and Accounting, School of Information Technology, and School of Nursing. Notably, Loris Crawford, who has been a cherished faculty member for 41 years, served as the Grand Marshal for this ceremony. New York Assemblymember Karines Reyes inspired graduates with her moving keynote address, emphasizing the value of their educational journey and the hopes they hold for the future.
In the afternoon ceremony, graduates from the King Graduate School were honored alongside undergraduates from the School of Criminal and Social Justice, School of Education, and School of Hospitality Management and Culinary Institute of New York. Josephine Cerrudo, a dedicated member of the community for 35 years, proudly led the processional as Grand Marshal, while New York Assemblymember Chantel Jackson delivered the keynote address. NYC Councilmember Pierina Sanchez congratulated all graduates and their families, enhancing the sense of community that Monroe has built over the years.
This year’s ceremony was particularly special due to the diverse representation of the graduates. Students hailed from 33 states and an impressive 103 countries, enriching the University’s spirit of inclusivity. The biggest contingents were reported from India, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, China, Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. The celebration showcased not only personal achievements but also the collective journey of students striving to create better futures for themselves and their communities.

President Marc Jerome expressed his admiration for the graduating class, stating, "Today, we are inspired and impressed by you. Highlighting the University’s rigorous academic calendar, students have the opportunity to earn 45 or more college credits each year, allowing many to complete Bachelor's degrees in just three years or Associate degrees in less than two years.
