Lundbeck Reports Strong Revenue Growth Driven by Vyepti and Strategic Partnerships in H1 2026
In the first half of 2026, H. Lundbeck A/S reported significant growth in total revenue, achieving an impressive increase of 16% at constant exchange rates (CER), bringing the total revenue to DKK 13,588 million. Notably, this growth was underpinned by the strong performance of the company’s strategic brand Vyepti® and focused commercial execution in the U.S. and European markets, where both regions delivered double-digit growth.
The company's U.S. operations generated revenue of DKK 7,227 million, reflecting a robust increase of 20% CER. Meanwhile, Europe also contributed considerably with DKK 3,269 million, marking a 14% growth. Lundbeck's international operations generated DKK 2,792 million, which, while positive, represented a more modest growth of 6% CER. This strong overall performance is attributed to a combination of continued commercial momentum and the successful transition to a partnership-oriented model in 27 markets, aligning with Lundbeck's strategic blueprint.
Lundbeck's strategic brands showed remarkable growth, surging by 17% CER to reach DKK 10,463 million, accounting for 77% of the total revenue. Among these brands, Vyepti® stood out with an extraordinary growth rate of 46% CER, totaling DKK 2,865 million in revenue. Rexulti® also performed admirably, generating DKK 3,297 million and growing 17% CER. However, not all products experienced similar success; Brintellix®/Trintellix® faced challenges, with revenue remaining relatively flat at DKK 2,331 million.
The EBITDA for Lundbeck rose to DKK 4,613 million, marking an 18% increase, while adjusted EBITDA reached DKK 4,765 million, a 19% rise. This growth was supported by a one-time inventory build that occurred in Q1 2026, which had a gross profit impact reflected in the numbers. Excluding this exceptional factor, EBITDA showed a steadier rise of 8% CER. The overall profitability performance led to significant increases in earnings per share (EPS), which reached DKK 2.83, a robust increase of 36% compared to the previous year. The adjusted EPS also surged, reaching DKK 3.70, marking a 28% increase.
Lundbeck's President and CEO, Charl van Zyl, expressed confidence in the company’s growth trajectory, emphasizing the strong commercial performance primarily driven by Vyepti® and the advancement of their pipeline, including the completion of enrollment in trials for other investigational compounds.
In recent developments, Lundbeck has received the Fast Track designation from the FDA for Lu AH69593, an oral orexin 2 receptor agonist aimed at treating sleep-wake disorders, which is currently in phase Ib development for narcolepsy treatment. Additionally, the company has completed the randomization phase for DEEp OCEAN, a global phase III trial for bexicaserin, aimed at treating seizures associated with developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. With strong financial results and a promising pipeline, Lundbeck appears well-positioned for sustained growth and success in the next stages of its strategic plans.
