Hisense Becomes World's First Customer Centricity Lighthouse in TV Industry
Hisense Achieves Historic Recognition by WEF
In a remarkable achievement, Hisense, a leading global brand in consumer electronics and home appliances, has been honored by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as the first factory in the television sector to be designated as a Customer Centricity Lighthouse. This recognition, announced recently, highlights the factory's commitment to innovation and the implementation of advanced digital technologies aimed at enhancing customer value amid a highly competitive landscape.
The Significance of the Lighthouse Status
The WEF Global Lighthouse Network aims to showcase industrial facilities that utilize cutting-edge digital methods to improve product marketability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Hisense's Visual Technology factory in Qingdao, China, stood out among global competitors and was awarded this prestigious title after undergoing a significant digital transformation.
Faced with rapidly evolving consumer demands and increasing price pressures, the factory leveraged artificial intelligence, big data analytics, industrial modeling, and large-scale virtual reality systems. This multifaceted approach has not only improved research and development (R&D) cycle times but has also dramatically reduced material costs and training durations.
Results of the Transformation
One of the most compelling indicators of success is the factory's impressive Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 84%, reflecting strong customer satisfaction. The transformation yielded a 34% reduction in R&D cycle times, an 18% cut in material costs, and a 60% decrease in onboarding times for new employees. Moreover, the time required to translate customer insights into functional product features was shortened by 62%, leading to a manufacturing cycle for 85-inch televisions of just 20 seconds.
"At Hisense, smart manufacturing begins with consumers' needs," stated Dennys Li, President of Hisense Visual Technology Co., Ltd. "By creating a human-centric manufacturing system, we are turning customer ideas into real product value more rapidly and accurately."
A Path of Innovation
This accolade marks the third time Hisense factories have received Lighthouse status through the WEF initiative. Prior to this, the Hisense Hitachi factory in Huandao was the world’s first to achieve the Sustainability Lighthouse recognition. This distinction underscores Hisense's ongoing leadership in sustainable manufacturing supported by AI technologies.
The attainment of the Customer Centricity Lighthouse designation is not just a milestone; it represents a pivotal aspect of Hisense's human-centered digital transformation strategy and intelligent manufacturing direction.
