Nature-Nurturing Initiative: A Step Toward a Sustainable Future

On July 11, 2026, more than 300 individuals gathered at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center for the Tokyo Junior Chamber's significant event titled "Now Knowing, Now Acting for Nature Positive." This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity and to educate adults on how to engage positively with nature, thus safeguarding the future of children.

Experiences and Learning for Children

Prior to the main event, the Tokyo Junior Chamber organized activities where children explored the interconnectedness of nature and daily living through various themes: parks, farms, and the sea. Participants visited places such as Shinjuku Gyoen, an urban rooftop farm in Otemachi, and the Sunshine Aquarium. This hands-on approach allowed them to learn about their environment and communicate their findings during the event.

During the meeting, various presentations took place from experts and the children themselves. Keynote speaker Koichi Ikka, an expert in biodiversity, delivered a compelling talk titled "Biodiversity Adults Should Know Now."
