Unnamed CARE Forum - A Week of Exploration on Unnamed Care
Overview
The Unnamed CARE Forum, conducted by the nonprofit organization PIECES, will take place from June 23 to June 29, 2025, offering a platform to explore the theme of 'Unnamed Care' and the significance of one-on-one connections in a society where loneliness is increasingly prevalent. This week-long forum aims to bring together individuals who value personal connections, regardless of their organizational or community affiliations.
Context
In recent years, social changes have led to a disconnect among individuals, escalating issues surrounding 'loneliness and isolation.' According to a survey conducted by the Cabinet Office in Japan, about one-third of teenagers report feeling lonely. Recognizing that addressing loneliness shouldn't be limited to specialized professionals or caregivers, the Hib Lab consortium believes that everyone has an essential role in caring for one another as individuals. This forum will provide perspectives on how to engage with others as fellow human beings, examining the often-undefined 'care' that encompasses being present, listening, and understanding.
