Global Roadshows Ignite Interest in the 138th Canton Fair



The recent promotion campaign for the 138th China Import and Export Fair, widely known as the Canton Fair, successfully concluded after completing a series of global roadshows from July to September. This initiative took place across a diverse array of ten countries, including Japan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Australia, Malaysia, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Each event served to strengthen the Fair's longstanding commitment to elevating international trade partnerships.

During these roadshows, attendees gained valuable insights into the Fair's extensive offerings. Zhang Sihong, the Deputy Director General of the China Foreign Trade Centre (CFTC), spoke in Turkey and the UK, highlighting the event's guiding principle of "Canton Fair, Global Share." He encouraged attendees to utilize the Fair's digital tools, such as the official app, to facilitate their engagement with China's vast network of suppliers.

In Australia and Malaysia, another CFTC Deputy Director General, Su Bin, emphasized the synergies between the Chinese and Australian economies and reaffirmed the strong ties between China and Malaysia. He invited potential buyers to take full advantage of the Canton Fair as a networking platform amidst the current climate of strong trade relationships.

Meanwhile, in Japan and Mongolia, Ma Fengmin, another Deputy Director General, underscored the historical importance of Japanese buyers to the Fair while noting the increasing participation of businesses from Mongolia. Ma promised that the upcoming Fair would feature improved exhibitors, a wider range of activities, and enhanced services tailored to international visitors.

In Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Liu Xiaomin, the Exhibition Director of CFTC Group, reiterated the Fair's reputation as a reliable sourcing center. Liu pointed to China's status as a top trading partner for Kazakhstan and highlighted Uzbekistan's significant demand for quality goods, showcasing the Fair's influence in the region.

Moreover, in Thailand and Bangladesh, Xu Jiansheng, Operations Director of CFTC Group, discussed the Fair's dedication to meeting local market demands, emphasizing its role as a conduit for collaboration in sectors like textiles, machinery, and home appliances.

Accompanying these promotional activities, CFTC conducted extensive market research, visiting leading retailers, such as Don Quijote in Japan, Coles in Australia, Lotus's in Malaysia, and Currys in the UK. Notably, in Kazakhstan, CFTC signed a global partnership agreement with the Almaty branch of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken."

Set to commence on October 15 in Guangzhou, the 138th Canton Fair promises a more sophisticated exhibition layout, high-quality products, enhanced variety in events, and attentive services aimed at facilitating a seamless experience for international guests. Excitement is building as stakeholders eagerly anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead, reaffirming the Canton Fair's esteemed place in the global trade landscape.
