Celebrating 40 Years of City Hunter with a Major Exhibition in Ueno!

Celebrate 40 Years of 'City Hunter'

The 'City Hunter' Mega Exhibition is currently taking place at the Ueno Royal Museum, celebrating the 40th anniversary of this legendary manga. Running until December 28, the exhibition showcases over 400 exquisite original illustrations created by Tsukasa Hojo, spread across seven captivating chapters.

Originally serialized from 1985 to 1991 in 'Weekly Shonen Jump,' 'City Hunter' has captivated audiences worldwide with its thrilling narratives featuring the elite sweeper Ryou Saeba and his partner Kaori Makimura as they confront crime in the vibrant streets of Shinjuku. The exhibition explores the diverse elements of this beloved series, from intense gunfights to comedic moments and the deep bond between its protagonists.

Visitors can enjoy rare original artwork while participating in immersive photo spots that replicate iconic scenes such as the 'message board' and 'Café Cat's Eye.' Enhancing the experience, a special movie featuring TM NETWORK's hit song 'Get Wild' sets an engaging atmosphere, allowing fans to fully immerse themselves in the world of 'City Hunter.'

Meet the Life-Sized Standee of Kaori Makimura!

A highlight of the exhibition is the unveiling of a life-sized figure of Kaori Makimura, featuring her alongside fellow characters Ryou, Umibouzu, and Mizuki. This stunning display is the product of a successful crowdfunding campaign that achieved its goal in just two minutes, ultimately raising an astonishing 646% of its target. Thanks to the overwhelming support, fans can now engage with these fan-favorite characters in a tangible way—right next to the imposing Umibouzu habitat.
