SINEXCEL's Innovative Contributions to Energy Storage Standards



On July 3, 2025, SINEXCEL (300693.SZ), a global leader in modular energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and energy quality solutions, announced its significant role in developing two newly released technical standards for grid-forming energy storage systems. This initiative marks a vital step towards the standardization and systematic advancement of energy storage technology in China.

Led by the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau, the two standards—T/SPSTS 035-2024 Technical Specifications for Grid-Connected Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems and T/SPSTS 036-2024 Guidelines for Black Start Technology in Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems—were collaboratively developed with SINEXCEL and academic partners, including Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen).

Setting New Standards


The first standard elaborates on the performance and functionality definitions for energy storage systems and devices that form the grid. It also provides clear technical guidelines for planning and deployment in critical urban areas, such as Shenzhen. The second standard outlines principles and operational procedures for black start scenarios, which are crucial for rejuvenating systems during extensive outages or network failures.

These guidelines, in conjunction with the previous deployment of the world's first grid-forming energy storage system at a low-altitude logistics center by SINEXCEL, represent groundbreaking achievements within the key research and development project titled "Research on Key Technologies and Devices for Grid-Forming Energy Storage Inverters" in Guangdong province. Together, they serve as authoritative references across the entire lifecycle of energy storage systems—from design and manufacturing to integration into the grid and operation.
