Griffin Partners Expands Leadership Team with New Executive Roles

Griffin Partners Strengthens Leadership with Key Appointments

Griffin Partners, a Houston-based commercial real estate investment firm, has announced significant changes in its executive leadership team, effective June 1, 2026. This decision aims to support the firm’s continuous growth and align its management with its expanding institutional platform. Kelly Agent and Lee Moreland, both long-standing leaders within the firm, have been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Portfolio Officer (CPO), respectively.

Kelly Agent: Chief Operating Officer

Kelly Agent has been pivotal in leading property services for Griffin’s national portfolio since she joined the firm in 2022. Now stepping into the role of COO, Agent will focus on translating the company's investment strategy into effective execution, ensuring consistent performance across all aspects of operations. Her responsibilities will encompass risk management, property management, and human resources, emphasizing the importance of talent and organizational culture in delivering strong performance.

Since her tenure began, Agent has implemented a comprehensive data-driven benchmarking strategy aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and tenant retention. Her expertise grew during her previous roles in asset management in major cities, including Chicago, Indianapolis, and Washington, D.C. With a foundational education from Mississippi State University, she holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Agent expressed her thoughts on her new role saying, “Effective execution ultimately drives investment outcomes. Griffin’s exceptional talent is the foundation of our performance, enabling successful execution and strong, consistent results.”

Lee Moreland: Chief Portfolio Officer

In his newly created role as Chief Portfolio Officer, Lee Moreland will play a crucial part in scaling Griffin’s national platform. Moreland has been a principal at Griffin since 2006 and brings over three decades of industry experience. His main responsibilities will involve leading the asset management team in the meticulous execution of business plans and maintaining alignment with the company’s long-term value objectives.

Moreland previously served as Vice President of Asset Management at Crescent Real Estate Equities, leading substantial projects totaling over eight million square feet. He will now work closely with CEO Edward Griffin to execute the company's strategic vision, ensuring the portfolio maintains high performance across all assets. He remarked, “This new role reflects the scale Griffin's portfolio has reached and the discipline required to drive long-term value.”

Looking Ahead

The appointments of Agent and Moreland come at a pivotal time for Griffin Partners, which has been known for its vertically integrated investment platform. The firm has actively engaged in acquiring, developing, and managing a diverse portfolio that spans more than 6.7 million square feet of industrial, office, and mixed-use real estate. Since its establishment in 1980, Griffin has successfully developed or acquired 60 projects amounting to over 18 million square feet and $2.7 billion in capitalization.

Edward Griffin, CEO and Chief Investment Officer, commented on the changes, stating, “As Griffin grows across the Sunbelt and Mountain West, we are expanding the institutional platform our partners expect. These promotions allow for the expansion of our investment committee and elevate long-tenured executive leaders into roles that bring complementary disciplines across acquisitions, development, portfolio strategy, and operations.”

With a strong foundation in leadership and a commitment to operational excellence, Griffin Partners appears poised for continued success as it broadens its reach in the competitive real estate market.
