Shanghai Electric Unveils Integrated Solutions for Industrial Innovation at CIIF 2026
Shanghai Electric Unveils Integrated Solutions for Industrial Innovation at CIIF 2026
From October 12 to 16, 2026, the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) took place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. This year's event highlighted Shanghai Electric's commitment to promoting industrial innovation through cutting-edge technology and integrated solutions spanning various fields.
Shanghai Electric introduced 19 integrated solutions, focusing on intelligent robotics, industrial artificial intelligence (AI), advanced computing infrastructure, high-performance gas turbines, and nuclear energy systems. This diverse portfolio demonstrates the company's capabilities to foster collaborative innovations across its business divisions, with AI seamlessly integrated into all stages of industrial processes.
Intelligent Robotics and AI Applications
On the first day of the exhibition, Shanghai Electric launched integrated solutions for robotics components featuring embodied intelligence. This range includes five categories of bearings, connectors, motion screws, joint modules, and robotic hands. These components bridge the gap between precision gear parts and fully integrated robotic arms, which are crucial for humanoid, industrial, and collaborative robots.
Some notable products included miniature bearings with an inner diameter of just 0.6 mm, highly corrosion-resistant connectors from Xuanwu, inverted planetary roller screws, rotary and linear joint modules, and an agile robotic hand with 22 degrees of freedom.
Furthermore, Shanghai Electric showcased its digital solutions for wind energy, demonstrating AI's role throughout the design, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance phases of wind turbine facilities. These data-driven, closed-loop workflows enhance R&D efficiency, ensure product quality, and optimize operational decision-making and maintenance processes.
The company also presented its comprehensive manufacturing solutions for smart lithium battery factories, which cover the entire production process from planning and design to process implementation and environmental management. This series aligns with the growing demands for automation, digitization, and smart manufacturing solutions.
Computational Infrastructure and Energy Management
A highlight of Shanghai Electric's booth was its advanced computing rack designed for data centers. Incorporating two-phase liquid cooling technology, this system provides precise temperature regulation at the chip level, boasting a cooling capacity exceeding 200 kW per rack. The implementation promises a fivefold increase in computational density, alongside the ability to upgrade existing data centers. Additionally, the integration with IoT platforms facilitates energy savings throughout the system while supporting predictive maintenance practices.
The company's smart energy management system integrates cloud and edge technologies. Operating on an architecture that combines cloud, edge, and terminal devices, the system uses AI algorithms to forecast production and load while optimizing the dispatching of multiple energy sources. This creates a closed loop for detection, analysis, decision-making, and execution, achieving continuous island operation in applications such as microgrids on oil fields — showcasing reliable electricity supply and flexible regulation under extreme operational conditions.
Advanced Solutions for Gas Turbines and Nuclear Energy
Shanghai Electric also unveiled an intelligent solution for high-performance gas turbines, employing AI throughout the lifecycle from development to operation and maintenance. This solution encompasses design simulations, intelligent manufacturing, quality control leveraging AI, supply chain coordination, and smart operational maintenance.
Notably, the company showcased its gas turbine control system, developed entirely in-house, which entered service in June 2026 as part of the Ganlu Project with Shenzhen Energy. This technology covers gas power plants with a straightforward and combined cycle in power classes ranging from 75 MW to 800 MW. Moreover, the company became the first in China to demonstrate hydrogen blending into fuel for an operational large F-class gas turbine.
In the nuclear energy sector, Shanghai Electric positioned itself uniquely as a supplier of complete main nuclear island equipment for pressurized water reactors and high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, as well as critical components for fusion systems. Through interactive exhibits, the company highlighted its solutions across the entire nuclear energy value chain, featuring Hualong One and Guohe One reactors, high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, and fusion technology.
With 36 breakthrough achievements in key manufacturing technologies, four essential manufacturing capacities established, and 15 patents acquired, Shanghai Electric continues to solidify its presence in the nuclear fusion domain, further proving its commitment to advancing industrial innovation.
