Dr. Andrea N. Nortey Joins OCLI Vision in Mineola and Oceanside

Starting November 3, she will see patients in both the Mineola and Oceanside locations. As a compassionate and adept ophthalmologist, Dr. Nortey specializes in comprehensive eye care, bringing her advanced clinical background and research acumen to the team.
Dr. Nortey's impressive credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University, where she majored in Community Health and Religion. She pursued her medical degree at New York Medical College, where her dedication to compassionate care earned her a place in the esteemed Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Upon completing her residency in ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, Dr. Nortey cultivated a keen interest in retinal diseases and neuroprotection. Her research, which explores neuroinflammation and its impact on degenerative eye conditions, has been published in reputable journals, including the Journal of Neuroinflammation and the Journal of Glaucoma. Furthermore, Dr. Nortey has contributed her insights at major national conferences, such as the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and the National Medical Association.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Nortey is a passionate advocate for diversity and equity within the medical field. She has held significant roles within the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at New York Medical College and has actively mentored underrepresented students aspiring to enter healthcare professions. Her commitment to fostering an inclusive environment is paramount in her approach to patient care.
