OPW Engineered Systems Unveils the HyperFlow High-Flow Data Center Coupler
Downers Grove, IL – April 28, 2026 – OPW Engineered Systems, a division of Dover (NYSE: DOV), has announced the introduction of the HyperFlow™ high-flow data center dry disconnect coupler. This innovative fitting has been designed to meet the ever-increasing performance and reliability demands of liquid-cooled data centers, driven largely by the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing workloads.
The HyperFlow coupler boasts an impressive full-port flow configuration that achieves a Cv rating of 48, providing a maximum flow rate of 100 gallons per minute. This represents a substantial improvement in both flow performance and pressure drop when compared to traditional 1-inch couplers. The advanced design ensures that critical computing infrastructure is safeguarded against fluid leaks, a crucial factor in maintaining system integrity.
Safety and reliability are paramount in the design of the HyperFlow coupler. It features a dual safety interlocking mechanism that prevents the valves from opening while the coupler is disconnected, as well as protecting against unintended disconnection during operation. This dual approach effectively eliminates potential spills, thus protecting sensitive electronic equipment from harmful exposure to coolant.
David Lee, the Director of Sales and Product Management at OPW Fluid Transfer Solutions Group, emphasized the importance of such innovations, stating, “As liquid cooling becomes essential for AI-scale infrastructure, data centers need components that can deliver greater throughput without increasing risk. The HyperFlow coupler is designed to meet that challenge, combining high-flow performance with advanced safety features to help maintain system integrity and uptime.”
The coupler is engineered with a symmetrical interlocking system consisting of two identical halves, which are secured together using four locking tabs. This design simplifies the installation process while ensuring a durable, reliable connection during operation. The patent-pending system is both efficient and user-friendly; a straightforward twist action allows technicians to quickly lock the coupler halves together, which is particularly advantageous for overhead installations or maintenance tasks in confined spaces.
With these advancements in flow performance, safety, and installation efficiency, the HyperFlow coupler significantly expands OPW Engineered Systems’ range of solutions catering to next-generation, AI-oriented data center infrastructures.
