Tetrate Partners with FINOS to Advance AI Governance for Regulated Industries

Tetrate Partners with FINOS to Enhance AI Governance

Tetrate, a company dedicated to streamlining AI adoption in regulated sectors, has recently joined forces with the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS). This partnership aims to address the significant hurdles faced by industries required to adhere to strict regulations, particularly in the realms of governance and artificial intelligence. By collaborating with FINOS, Tetrate seeks to bridge the gap between various AI governance frameworks and promote a unified approach to AI implementation in highly regulated environments.

With the continued rise of artificial intelligence technologies, organizations within government and financial services find themselves at a critical juncture. Many of these entities are eager to harness AI's potential to enhance efficiency and user engagement but face roadblocks stemming from a lack of clear and cohesive guidelines. Tetrate's initiative, in partnership with FINOS, focuses on tackling this very issue.

When organizations look to adopt AI technologies, they often encounter two primary challenges: the absence of standardized regulations and the complexity of existing guidelines. In such a landscape, decisive action can be stifled, leaving many stakeholders stagnant. Tetrate aims to resolve these hurdles by harmonizing the various AI governance frameworks currently in existence, especially those associated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Tetrate is no stranger to addressing disparities in standards. The company has previously contributed to NIST’s efforts in aligning microservice standards with the financial services sector—an achievement that led to the establishment of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) standards. This experience has equipped Tetrate to offer valuable control mappings between the FINOS AI Governance framework and numerous recognized industry standards, comprising the OWASP LLM Top 10, OWASP Machine Learning Top 10, ISO 42001, and NIST SP 800-53.

These initiatives not only bring clarity to the FINOS AI Governance framework but also ensure that it remains actionable for practitioners navigating compliance in regulated businesses. Tetrate's involvement extends further; the company has actively participated in collaborative research with NIST, contributing to advancements in secure application communication and the concept of zero trust.

As Tetrate forges ahead with its mission, David Wang, the head of product management and marketing, emphasizes the urgency of establishing robust AI governance frameworks. He states,
