City Hunter's Special Christmas Event at Ueno's Art Museum

Celebrate Christmas with City Hunter at Ueno Art Museum

The Ueno Royal Museum is currently hosting a grand exhibition titled "City Hunter Original Art Exhibit – FOREVER, CITY HUNTER‼ –" in honor of the beloved franchise's 40th anniversary. This stunning showcase, running until December 28, features over 400 original sketches from the iconic manga series, which first appeared in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1985.

To celebrate the season, the "Cats' Eye Cafe" corner of the exhibition has undergone a festive transformation. For two days only, December 24 and 25, fans can visit this beautifully decorated area where the beloved characters, including the Santa-hat-wearing sea monk and Miki, are waiting to greet visitors. This is a unique opportunity to experience a romantic Christmas that captures the essence of the City Hunter world.

Within the exhibit, fans will relive the bond between the legendary sweeper Ryo Saeba and his partner Kaori Makimura. Their story unfolds through precious original artworks that illustrate their fateful meeting and evolving partnership. Viewers can immerse themselves in the detailed illustrations from Tsukasa Hojo, enjoying both breathtaking color art and black-and-white sketches showcasing memorable scenes from the series.

The venue also features interactive photo spots, including a lifelike recreation of the "Cats' Eye Cafe,” allowing fans to snap photos with life-sized figures of Ryo and Kaori. Accompanied by a special movie that plays TM NETWORK's hit song "Get Wild," the exhibit is designed to engage all five senses, bringing the City Hunter universe to life.

In addition to the artistic displays, fans can purchase a variety of exclusive merchandise related to the exhibition. This event is a great chance to embrace the enduring charm of City Hunter, a series that has captivated audiences for four decades.

Exclusive Christmas Decorations and Gifts

During the special two-day celebration, Santa hats and festive decorations enhance the atmosphere of the "Cats' Eye Cafe" photo spot. Visitors can take pictures in this uniquely decorated area, creating a memorable experience with Ryo, Kaori, and Miki.

Additionally, attendees on December 24 and 25 will receive a special Christmas gift: a B6-sized calendar for 2026, designed with the artwork of Ryo and Kaori dressed as Santa. This collectible, suitable for use as a bookmark, will be given to the first 1,000 visitors each day on a first-come, first-served basis. Make sure to arrive early to secure this unique keepsake!
