Hoymiles Unveils New Solutions for Faster, Smarter Whole-Home Backup Power Systems

In recent years, there has been a growing demand for reliable whole-home backup power solutions among homeowners. Traditional approaches have often been complicated to install and somewhat rigid, failing to meet the evolving needs of modern households. Responding to this demand, Hoymiles has launched two groundbreaking products: the HiSwitch and the HiBox. These devices are specifically engineered to operate seamlessly with the all-in-one energy storage system, HiOne, providing smoother transitions to off-grid operation and simplifying the overall whole-home backup power experience.

The HiSwitch: Simplified and Effective

The HiSwitch represents a significant advancement in backup power technology. This five-in-one device merges essential functions like a power switch, circuit breaker, energy meter, bypass switch, and current transformer (CT) into one compact unit. Its design reduces the total number of components required, minimizes wiring efforts, and decreases installation time.

With dimensions similar to a standard power meter, the HiSwitch installs directly in the electrical panel, avoiding extensive drilling and tedious rewiring. Supporting a bypass current of up to 100A, it can handle a diverse array of appliances from lighting to high-power devices seamlessly. Additionally, the HiSwitch boasts over 6,000 switching cycles at high currents and a short-circuit current rating (SCCR) of 6kA, ensuring reliable transfer to backup power and enhanced protection against unexpected electrical failures.

Most notably, its design allows for streamlined replacements, enabling installers to swap out just the HiSwitch rather than overhauling the entire energy storage system, ultimately minimizing downtime and reducing after-sales servicing costs by up to 80%.

The HiBox: Intelligent Energy Management

The HiBox serves as the central control hub for whole-home backup systems and offers significant expandability for energy systems as household energy demands grow.

It features:
  • - System Expandability: Easily add a second inverter to enhance power capacity and backup functionalities as energy needs increase.
  • - Multi-source Power Input: The system accommodates compatible generators and PV inverters from other brands, allowing comprehensive data monitoring without the need for additional measurement devices.
  • - Smart Load Control: Devices connected through the Smart Port can be managed intelligently, maximizing homeowners' use of available clean energy.

Building Resilient Energy Systems

"Whole-home backup power should not come at the expense of installation flexibility," stated Guy Rong, Vice President of Hoymiles. "With HiBox and HiSwitch, we're offering two innovative pathways towards building resilient home energy systems, allowing all components to remain part of a unified energy ecosystem."

By integrating HiOne, HiBox, and HiSwitch, Hoymiles aims to assist more households in achieving greater energy independence and resilience. This strategic approach not only enhances overall energy efficiency but also empowers homeowners by providing them with smarter and more adaptable energy solutions. Hoymiles is committed to making whole-home backup power solutions simpler and more effective for everyone, proving that advanced technology can lead to sustainable and reliable energy sources for the future.
