Elegoo Completes First Phase of 'Elegoo With Her'
Elegoo, a swiftly growing brand in the global intelligent manufacturing sector, has announced the successful conclusion of the first phase of its initiative, 'Elegoo With Her'. This program aims to support and shine a spotlight on female creatives worldwide through the innovative use of 3D printing technology.
Within this initial phase, more than 110 applicants submitted their projects, from which 30 participants representing 17 different countries were selected. The program involved three months of workshops and mentoring sessions, culminating in a showcase phase where participants can exhibit their work. Notably, over 70% of these participants were newcomers to 3D printing, emphasizing the initiative's role in making this technology more accessible to aspiring female creators.
During its introduction at the Formnext 2024, 'Elegoo With Her' was led by eight talented designers and manufacturers. The leaders include names such as Anouk Wipprecht, Batoul al-Rashdan, Brigitte Kock, Denise Bertacchi, Emily Boe (pseudonym), Linette Manuel, Shehzeen Rehman, and Willow Creative. The creations developed during the program included MINT kits aimed at empowering girls in Africa, as well as intricately designed 3D-printed lamps inspired by early 20th-century aesthetics. Such projects showcase the creative potential of 3D printing across diverse fields like home decor, fashion, cosplay, and educational tools.
Janet Zagah, a renewable energy entrepreneur and participant in the program, shared her experience: “I remember how thrilled I was when I printed my first Benchy. I also recall how things didn’t go perfectly. The hands-on workshops, mentorship, and community support not only equipped me with skills but also instilled in me the confidence to build and lead.”
Another participant, Kinnera Putti, a mobile application developer, said, “An inclusive program facilitated by such a significant player like Elegoo is a powerful statement. I hope others realize what we have accomplished and feel inspired to pursue their own endeavors.”
Coco Lee, the Brand Manager at Elegoo, expressed the company’s vision: “We have always believed that 3D printing should be accessible to everyone. These projects illustrate the strong outcomes that arise when women embrace challenges and utilize technology to shape and enhance their lives.” She added, “We take pride in our products, which, thanks to their proven reliability and user-friendliness, empower individuals from all backgrounds to unleash their creativity and bring their ideas to life.”
Although this chapter has concluded, the journey continues. Elegoo has made its workshop videos available on YouTube, and the next major presentation is scheduled for September at the IFA in Berlin, where attendees can witness the remarkable works inspired by women.
