Operating from locations in Meadville and Bradford, Pennsylvania, Channellock, Case, and Zippo come together to underscore the significance of local manufacturing. With a workforce exceeding 1,150 employees across both companies, they bring together nearly four centuries of combined experience. In a recent press release, William S. DeArment, Chairman and CEO of Channellock®, emphasized that manufacturing is not merely a label but embodies the pride workers take in their durable creations. This collaboration showcases not only their heritage but also their shared values aligned with Pennsylvania’s manufacturing prowess.

Channellock®, established in 1886, is renowned for its wide variety of pliers, employing over 350 associates and producing more than 75 different plier variants. Similarly, Case has been a beacon of high-quality knife manufacturing in Bradford since its founding in 1905, where approximately 300 skilled artisans meticulously craft knives through a complex process of over 100 steps. This unwavering commitment to quality speaks volumes about the local workforce that has gained recognition for their craftsmanship worldwide.

Zippo, another pillar of Pennsylvania craftsmanship, emerged as a powerhouse in the lighter manufacturing industry since its inception in 1932. Speaking about their local heritage, Grant B. Duke, the President, and CEO of Zippo, recognized the continuous efforts invested into workforce development. The company not only employs around 500 individuals but also champions educational initiatives, scholarships, and apprentice programs, bridging the gap between traditional skills and modern manufacturing demands.
