API International Expands Indiana Warehouse to Meet Increasing Demand in Eastern U.S.

API International's Warehouse Expansion

In a significant move to address growing demand in the Eastern United States, API International has successfully expanded its warehouse in Greenfield, Indiana by 75%. This strategic expansion aims to bolster the company’s capacity to meet the rising need for industrial piping components, particularly in markets such as data centers, exhaust systems, and waterworks.

Boosting Capacity and Reducing Delivery Times

The expansion project, which commenced following city approval in July 2025, was completed by July 2026. With this increase in warehouse capacity, API International has improved its company-wide warehouse and manufacturing capabilities by an impressive 20%. By positioning inventory closer to major East Coast markets, the company has managed to reduce delivery time significantly from the previous six to seven business days to just one or three business days. This improvement allows customers to gain quicker access to critical products.

“API International is dedicated to servicing and supporting our customers efficiently,” stated Abdi Afghan, Vice President of Operations. He emphasized the company's commitment to providing quality parts reliably and meeting customer specifications. The enhanced Greenfield facility now boasts new racking systems capable of holding an additional 60 to 70 containers, supported by two newly acquired forklifts. This increased capacity means that API International can maintain a more robust stock of essential products, further minimizing the risk of stock-outs and inventory shortages for their customers.

Meeting Industry Demand

The impetus for this expansion was driven largely by the surging demands from various sectors, including silencer manufacturing and HVAC markets. API International has also ramped up its sales force in the eastern regions to keep pace with ongoing regional growth. According to Ric Henderson, Vice President of Sales, this expansion is crucial for the company to accommodate shorter lead times and improve availability for its expanding customer base.

Moreover, the Indiana location enhances regional quality control, allowing for better quality assurance support closer to customers in the South and East. This structure enables the company to promptly address any potential issues, as the need to reroute product concerns back to their headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon has decreased significantly.

Expanded Workforce

In tandem with the expansion, the Greenfield facility has seen a notable increase in job capacity, growing by 50%. API International has recruited a new Warehouse Facility Supervisor, a Warehouse Operations Lead, and additional quality control personnel. This increase in staffing aligns with their commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and operational effectiveness, mirroring the quality control structure established at their Tualatin site.

API International’s range of products includes key flange components as outlined in AWWA C207/C228 and ANSI/ASME B16.5/B16.47 standards, as well as OEM fittings and custom-fabricated industrial piping components. These additions play a crucial role in sustaining the operational capabilities of their numerous clients across various essential services.

Future Growth Plans

This warehouse expansion is part of API International's long-term growth strategy in manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. The company is actively considering the establishment of additional stocking and production facilities in the U.S. to continue supporting growth in the Eastern and Southern regions effectively.

In conclusion, API International's commitment to improving service through faster deliveries and increased capacity not only strengthens its operational footprint in the Midwest but also positions it favorably for anticipated future growth amidst rising demands across varied industrial sectors. With over 47 years in the industry and serving more than 1,500 customers across North America, API International remains dedicated to keeping the nation's infrastructure running smoothly with precision-engineered solutions that meet critical challenges across multiple markets.
