The ORAN Development Company, LLC (ODC) has successfully closed a Series A funding round, raising $45 million to support its vision for an AI-native Radio Access Network (AI-RAN) infrastructure. This funding will enable ODC to further develop its Odyssey RAN software platform, which aims to integrate communication, sensing, and edge intelligence capabilities.
Industry Heavyweights Back ODC
Led by a prestigious group of global tech and infrastructure leaders, the funding round featured prominent investors, including Booz Allen, Cisco Investments, Nokia, and NVIDIA. Additionally, major telecom companies, such as ATT, MTN, and Telecom Italia, joined the syndicate, highlighting industry-wide confidence in ODC's innovative potential. Previous investments by Cerberus Capital Management also played a key role in laying the groundwork for this significant funding success.
This partnership underscores a collective commitment to revolutionizing telecommunication infrastructure, especially as the industry transitions toward software-defined, AI-powered networks. Ronnie Vasishta, NVIDIA's Senior Vice President of Telecom, expressed this sentiment: “The shift to AI-native telecom networks is crucial for the Physical AI era.” ODC’s AI-RAN stack is positioned to transform traditional connectivity into a sophisticated and intelligent infrastructure component.
