Discover the Rescue Dog Trainer Experience School for Kids in Aichi, Japan

Explore the Thrilling Rescue Dog Trainer Experience Program

Starting April 18, 2026, the Plus One Education Group, part of the Riso Education Group based in Tokyo, is inviting children from first to third year middle school to immerse themselves in an unforgettable two-day adventure: the "Rescue Dog Trainer Experience School - Basic Edition." This innovative program allows children to learn from professional trainers, take care of rescue dogs, and even train them in a structured setting designed to cultivate a sense of responsibility and teamwork.

Overview of the Rescue Dog Trainer Experience School - Basic Edition

The program takes place at the IPC Wanwan Zoo in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, and includes:
  • - Dates: April 18-19, 2026 (Application Deadline: April 14, 2026)
  • - Participants: Kids from 1st grade to 3rd grade of middle school (based on the school year on the day of departure)
  • - Accommodation: Stay at the Okazaki New Grand Hotel in a modern twin or triple room with private bathroom.
  • - Meals: One breakfast, two lunches, one dinner included.
  • - Transport: Shinkansen and local trains from Tokyo.
  • - Fees: 55,000 JPY for elementary students and 65,000 JPY for middle school students, covering travel, lodging, meals, training events, and accident insurance.
  • - Capacity: 15 participants (with a minimum of 5 required to proceed).

Key Highlights of the Program

1. Individual Attention: Each child will train with their assigned rescue dog, promoting a unique bond and hands-on learning experience. Kids will practice commands and obstacle navigation as they engage with rescue dog training techniques.

2. Fostering Empathy: The program goes beyond basic training. Participants will engage in activities like walking, feeding, and caring for their canine partners, often leading to emotional connections that leave some children sad to part ways. It’s a two-day opportunity that many participants return to each year.

3. Expert Guidance: Under the watchful eyes of trainers from the IPC Wanwan Zoo, young participants, even those who have never interacted with dogs before, will learn how to properly approach and handle these animals in a safe and supportive environment.

Sample Schedule

  • - Day 1: Depart from Tokyo (8:00-9:00) via Shinkansen to Toyohashi, then transition to a local train to Manakawa. The day's activities include: exploring the facility, selecting a partner dog, experiential training, dog walking, feeding, health checks, and a fun event.

  • - Day 2: Morning health checks, feeding, walking, the "Wan Wan Game" tournament, and a rescue dog trainer certification test concluding with a certification ceremony.
