Hugel Reports Strong Financial Results for the First Three Quarters of 2026 Driven by Growth in Medical Aesthetics
Hugel Inc., a prominent player in the medical aesthetics sector, has released its financial results for the first three quarters of 2026, showing formidable growth and solidifying its position in the global market. The company, which is publicly traded in South Korea, has reported consolidated net sales totaling KRW352.1 billion, reflecting a vigorous expansion of 15% compared to the previous year. This rising trend can be attributed to multiple factors, including increased demand for botulinum toxin, HA fillers, and skinboosters.
Q3 Financial Overview
In the third quarter alone, Hugel recorded net sales of KRW97.5 billion, alongside an operating profit of KRW18.1 billion and a net profit of KRW4.7 billion. The total combined net sales from both domestically produced and international products amounted to KRW47.2 billion for botulinum toxin, despite a year-on-year decrease of 21%. Conversely, sales of hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers and skinboosters showed resilience with a modest year-on-year increase of 2%, reaching KRW30.9 billion. Sales from cosmetics and other product offerings also surged, achieving year-on-year growth in excess of 25%, amounting to KRW19.4 billion.
Regional Performance Highlights
The surge in sales for botulinum toxin, HA fillers, and skinboosters in Korea has been particularly noteworthy, with a remarkable 54% increase year-on-year, landing at KRW27.4 billion. This upward trajectory has been consistent, showing quarter-on-quarter growth since the third quarter of 2025. Internationally, Hugel has experienced robust growth in European, Chinese, and Brazilian markets, particularly evident in the 18% rise in combined sales in Europe and other regions during Q3, where net sales reached KRW17.8 billion. In China, Hugel has secured a strong foothold, achieving the second-highest market share in botulinum toxin with a solid 22% stake.
Brazil marked an impressive milestone by attaining record-high quarterly sales as it celebrated the first anniversary of its re-entry into the market. Meanwhile, in the U.S. market, a transition from distributor partnerships to a contract sales organization (CSO) model has been initiated, unlocking strategic advantages for the company even though it results in short-term fluctuations in overall performance.
Strategic Vision and Future Outlook
Carrie Strom, President and Global CEO, expressed optimism regarding the company's prospects, noting, "Building on our leading position in Korea, Hugel continues to expand its foundation for international growth. With considerable progress in our direct sales model in the U.S., we are poised to leverage the advantages of our botulinum toxin product, Letybo, to enhance long-term profitability."
Daniel Chang, Hugel's Korea CEO, reaffirmed confidence in their growth strategies, citing, "The impressive performance of our botulinum toxin and HA fillers once again highlights the strength of our domestic growth foundation.
