This September, head to the Tokyo Game Show 2026 and immerse yourself in the world debut of Total War: Warhammer 40,000, the highly anticipated new addition to the beloved Total War series. Organized by Sega, this event offers fans an exclusive chance to explore the game before its official launch in 2027.

Event Details

The event will take place from September 17 to 21, 2026, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The Sega/Atlus booth will feature a dedicated corner for Total War: Warhammer 40,000, where attendees can play an exclusive Japanese version demo. The public days run from September 19 to 21, and you won’t want to miss this unique opportunity!

Gameplay Experience

At the Total War: Warhammer 40,000 corner, players can engage in a 30-minute gameplay session, leading the elite Imperial faction, the Space Marines, in fierce battles. This event is designed for both newcomers and veterans of the series alike. As an additional incentive, participants will receive an acrylic dog tag keychain after completing the demo session. Please note that this demo is restricted to attendees aged 18 and over.

Hammer Challenge with Luxurious Prizes

In addition to the gameplay, fans can participate in the Hammer Challenge, an interactive activity inspired by the game’s four factions. Everyone who registers the game on their wishlist and is 18 years or older can join the challenge, which guarantees no losers! Some of the prizes up for grabs include:

Closed Beta Test Announcements

Sega has also announced the opening of applications for the closed beta test, expected to run in late 2026. If you’re 18 or older and unable to join the event in person, we encourage you to apply online. The beta will be available in Japanese, but some translations may still be in progress.
