Subaru Finance Embraces Digital Transformation with SkySign®
Subaru Finance has taken a significant step towards modernizing its credit application process by integrating SkySign®, a cloud-based electronic contract service developed by Skycom. This digital transformation is set to begin on June 25, 2025, allowing Subaru dealerships across Japan to process credit applications more efficiently.
The Previous Process
Traditionally, the credit application process at Subaru dealerships involved a tedious manual procedure. Sales representatives had to obtain consent from customers in person during discussions, followed by obtaining handwritten signatures on paper documents. These signed papers would then be faxed to Subaru Finance to initiate the approval process. This method not only consumed valuable time but also introduced the risk of human error and potential delays.
The Digital Solution
Now, with the implementation of SkySign®, the process will undergo a considerable change. By connecting Subaru Finance’s systems with SkySign®’s application programming interface (API), dealership sales representatives will be able to collect electronic signatures directly on their iPads. Customers will be presented with the necessary declaration documents on the iPad screen, where they can easily provide their consent by signing electronically. This advancement is expected to drastically improve the efficiency of compliance checks and lower the processing time required for credit applications.
Advantages of SkySign®
SkySign® meets the stringent requirements outlined in Japan’s Electronic Signature Law, guaranteeing the reliability of electronic signatures and affirming the identity of all parties involved in the transaction. Its cloud-based platform ensures that documents are securely stored and easily accessible, further eliminating the need for physical documentation.
This shift towards electronic contracts aligns with broader industry trends favoring digital solutions to enhance customer experience and streamline operations. Moreover, it signifies Subaru Finance's commitment to adopting innovative technologies that better serve their customers.
