Associated Bank's Third Annual Day of Service: Making a Difference Together

Associated Bank's Third Annual Day of Service

On June 25, 2025, Associated Banc-Corp is set to hold its third annual Day of Service, a remarkable initiative bringing together over 2,400 employees dedicated to community service. This year, the event will span across four states: Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and parts of Missouri, embodying the bank's commitment to giving back. Each member of the team will be granted extra volunteer hours, allowing them to participate in various activities aimed at addressing critical issues such as food security, youth support services, and financial education.

In an impressive display of philanthropy, this year's Day of Service also includes the distribution of $17,500 in community grants to twelve nonprofit organizations. One notable recipient is the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation located in East St. Louis, which focuses on providing educational and athletic programs for youth. The grant will supply necessary sporting equipment intended for use during a finance-themed sports camp at the foundation. This equipment will not only enhance the event but will also remain with the foundation for ongoing use in its programming, ensuring a long-term positive impact on local youth.

Volunteer activities encompass a wide variety designed to meet community needs. From repacking food at local food banks to gardening, decorating meals on wheels bags, and engaging with youth centers, employees will immerse themselves in hands-on service, tailored specifically for the diverse requirements of each locality.

Andy Harmening, the president and CEO of Associated Bank, underscored the bank's ethos, stating, "At Associated, service is in our branch and across our company. This year's Day of Service reflects our long-standing commitment to strengthening the communities we serve through both hands-on support and direct investment in the organizations doing the hard work every day."

Leading up to the Day of Service, the bank initiated a public food drive named Stock the Box™, from June 4 to June 20, encouraging patrons to donate non-perishable food items at participating branches. These donations are set to assist local food pantries and nonprofit partners, emphasizing a collaborative community effort.

Since its inception in 2023, the Day of Service initiative has seen significant volunteer engagement, with over 13,300 hours logged, translating into a staggering $435,000 value of community service. Last year, 58% of Associated employees enthusiastically participated in various activities across 163 nonprofit organizations, making a meaningful difference in 110 cities.

This Day of Service is a testament to Associated's unwavering dedication to fostering community growth and resilience. Beyond volunteerism, the bank is actively engaged in economic development through its ambitious $2 billion Community Commitment Plan, highlighting a dual approach that combines financial support and community service. These efforts collectively reinforce the bank's mission to empower communities through both active participation and financial investment, ensuring that they not only survive but thrive.
