United Breast Cancer Foundation Marks 25 Years with New Headquarters and Support Initiatives
This October, the United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) proudly commemorates its 25th anniversary, an impressive milestone in its ongoing commitment to supporting those affected by breast cancer. In celebration, UBCF is set to unveil a new national headquarters located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, while also hosting the Mattress Pink Bag Event®, a multi-day initiative aimed at offering essential support to breast cancer patients and survivors.
Opening Ceremonies
On October 28, 2025, UBCF will hold a Grand Opening ceremony featuring a symbolic Pink Ribbon Cutting at 10:00 am, showcasing the new facility and its services. Local dignitaries, community members, and supporters will gather to celebrate this significant achievement. Mayor Harold Copenhaver, among other notable guests, will be present to acknowledge UBCF’s efforts and dedication to providing crucial resources in the fight against breast cancer. He stated, "The journey towards recovery from breast cancer is one that should not be faced alone. UBCF’s presence here in Jonesboro will serve as a source of strength and vital support."
Community Engagement
The opening celebration will not only reveal UBCF’s facilities but will also include a Community Fair. Local organizations and businesses are invited to join in by setting up booths to provide information and resources that could benefit attendees. This event is aimed at fostering community connections and raising awareness about the services available to those affected by breast cancer.
Combating Breast Cancer
Breast cancer remains a pressing public health issue, especially in Arkansas, where it accounts for a substantial proportion of new cancer diagnoses among women. According to the American Cancer Society, around 316,950 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected in the U.S. in 2025, with Arkansas seeing over 2,500 diagnoses annually. These statistics highlight the importance of UBCF's mission to address such critical health concerns and provide support to individuals and families in need.
Mattress Pink Bag Event®
To provide hands-on support to patients and survivors, UBCF’s Mattress Pink Bag Event® offers approved participants a complimentary queen-size therapeutic mattress and the opportunity to shop from the Foundation's signature Pink Bag. This shopping experience is designed to furnish attendees with essential items such as clothing, shoes, personal care products, and household goods—all provided free of charge. Those attending the event must be currently undergoing treatment or in recovery and must register in advance for in-person attendance at the Jonesboro facility.
Voices of Support
Stephanie Mastroianni, the Executive Director of UBCF, shared her sentiments about this significant milestone saying, "For 25 years, UBCF has remained devoted to uplifting those impacted by breast cancer, ensuring they feel seen and supported throughout their journey. The opening of our new headquarters signifies an exciting and crucial phase for our organization and expands our capacity to serve communities both locally and nationwide."
The impact of UBCF’s programs is echoed in the words of participants like Abby, a breast cancer survivor from Arkansas. She noted how invaluable UBCF's support has been during her journey, stating, "Receiving assistance from UBCF has transformed my breast cancer experience. The resources provided have helped me maintain stability and resilience during a challenging time."
Encouraging Collaboration and Support
As part of the anniversary festivities, UBCF is actively seeking support from individuals, businesses, and philanthropic partners to continue funding its vital programs. There are numerous opportunities for sponsorship, donations, and volunteering, all aimed at directly benefiting breast cancer patients and their families. Interested parties are encouraged to reach out to UBCF for more information.
