Greg Peckham Appointed as President and CEO of Cuyahoga Valley Conservancy

Greg Peckham to Lead Cuyahoga Valley National Park Conservancy

The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park announced on June 9, 2025, that it has appointed Greg Peckham as the next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 21, 2025. Peckham takes the helm following Deb Yandala, who has served in this role for 32 years, transitioning out of her position on July 3, 2025. The appointment comes as the organization enters a new chapter in its mission to promote environmental stewardship and enhance community engagement.

Greg Peckham brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, especially in nonprofit leadership and community development. His recent role as the Executive Director of LAND studio in Cleveland, Ohio, showcased his commitment to successful community projects that improve the quality of life for residents. Under his management, LAND studio became integral to various significant civic endeavors, including the promising transformation of Irishtown Bend—a 25-acre greenspace reclamation project along the Cuyahoga River.

"I am deeply inspired by the Conservancy's dedication to preserving the natural beauty of Cuyahoga Valley National Park while uplifting the surrounding communities," said Peckham upon his appointment. He expressed his excitement to be part of the Conservancy and to continue the impactful legacy left by Deb Yandala. "It is an honor to lead this vital organization into its next phase of growth and influence."

Peckham's career is characterized by his efforts to foster partnerships with community leaders, governmental entities, and funding organizations. He has a proven success record in various aspects, including strategic planning, community engagement, fundraising, and organizational growth. His inclusive approach to leadership and his desire to nurture spaces where varied viewpoints are acknowledged have been pivotal to his achievements.

Karyn Sullivan, Chair of the Conservancy Board, expressed confidence in Peckham’s ability to drive transformative change. "Greg's passion for environmental conservation and community progress aligns seamlessly with our mission. We believe that under his leadership, we can cultivate an even stronger bond with the park and its visitors."

In the meantime, the Board of Directors at LAND studio will kick off a nationwide search for Peckham's successor. They will establish a transition committee promptly and appoint an interim leader in the coming weeks to maintain continuity in their operations.

Colette Jones, Chair of the LAND studio Board, praised Peckham’s transformative leadership, stating, "His visionary mindset, collaborative nature, and dedication to community and public spaces have greatly enhanced our impact in Cleveland. We are thankful for his contributions and the robust groundwork he has laid."

Peckham holds a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University. His dedication to the sector is further evidenced by his instrumental role in forming the Cleveland Parks Greenspace Coalition and teaching at the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program.

The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park is recognized as a leading nonprofit partner of CVNP, dedicated to bolstering the park's mission through community engagement and innovation. It delivers a diverse range of educational programs, administers the volunteer program, and operates retail outlets, all directed at enhancing visitor experiences and promoting a deeper connection with the park.
