Comments from ReLU Games
A representative from ReLU Games expressed immense gratitude for this recognition: “We are incredibly pleased that our endeavor to incorporate AI into the core of the gaming structure has been acknowledged for its significance in the genre. We would also like to thank the Japanese gaming community for their continued interest and support since the early release stage. Moving forward, we will strive to unearth new interesting experiences, backed by our technical and planning capabilities.”
Storyline and Gameplay of MIMESIS
In
MIMESIS, players must confront monsters powered by AI, known as
Mimesis, in a cooperative experience designed for four players. Set in a world where mysterious rain has transformed humans into beings capable of duplicating others' voices and actions, the game places players in a situation where trust is a luxury they can’t afford. The central gameplay revolves around maintaining the operation of a tram, which compels players to gather resources together. Yet, an underlying sense of dread looms, with the constant fear that one of their teammates might be a Mimesis.
Player Immersion and Experience
ReLU Games has refined the AI monsters within the early access version, incorporating feedback gained from two testing sessions and a demo. Players can expect a nuanced tension between cooperation and suspicion as they navigate the immersive gameplay.
MIMESIS released its early access version on
October 27, 2025, on Steam and has already surpassed 2 million units sold worldwide.
