Osaka will soon transform into a hub for Japanese culture enthusiasts as TRADMAN'S BONSAI hosts its popup event on May 24-25, 2025. Situated at the ESC Garage & Club in the heart of the city, this event promises an engaging experience centered around the art of bonsai, a traditional element of Japanese culture. Organized by Matsubaya Corporation, which aims to share the beauty of bonsai worldwide, this year marks the third edition of this annual event.

Event Schedule


Day 1: Popup Exhibition
Date: May 24, 2025
Venue: ESC GARAGE & CLUB, Nishi Ward, Osaka
Time: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (tentative)
Admission: Free, no reservations required

On the first day, attendees will have the opportunity to witness spectacular bonsai displays. In addition, various bonsai, TRADMAN'S uniforms, and exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase. A standout feature of this day will be the bonsai photography sessions conducted by TRADMAN’S dedicated photographers. Unique items such as collaboration shirts with WAX will also debut, making this a not-to-miss shopping experience. Visitors can take home exclusive stickers and special novelties with their bonsai purchases, enhancing their connection to this traditional art form.

Day 2: Bonsai Workshop with NLCS Kobe
Date: May 25, 2025
Venue: ESC GARAGE & CLUB, Nishi Ward, Osaka
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (tentative)
Admission: Pre-registration required

The second day features a special workshop in conjunction with the North London Collegiate School Kobe (NLCS Kobe). This session aims to engage participants, especially children, in hands-on experiences with bonsai, covering pruning and repotting techniques. TRADMAN’S BONSAI's skilled instructors will share insights into the philosophy and spirituality tied to nurturing these miniature trees. As a finishing touch, participants will document their creations through photography, showcasing their transformation into art.

An exciting talk session will also take place later in the day featuring Kojiro Ikeda from Hakkou L.R. Company and Teppei Kojima from TRADMAN’S BONSAI. They will discuss the future of traditional culture, offering unique perspectives that bridge generational gaps and emphasize the importance of cultural heritage. This talk is open to all attendees, whether they participate in the workshops or not.

Scheduled to open in August 2025, NLCS Kobe stands as one of the pinnacle institutions of British international education.
