Womansplain Takes Its Empowering Message to Billboards Across the Tri-State Area

Womansplain Takes Its Message to Billboards

Womansplain, a trailblazing podcast dedicated to amplifying the voices of female founders, operators, and investors, is hitting the streets—literally. Following its inaugural Summit on October 16 in New York, Womansplain has launched a digital billboard campaign across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, taking its empowering message to a wider audience. The initiative marks a significant milestone for the community, which has grown impressively since its formation in January 2024.

The campaign features 61 digital billboards strategically placed at prominent locations including Philadelphia, Newark, Jersey City, Trenton, Camden, and Atlantic City, as well as major highways like I-95 and I-80. In just a few weeks, the message of Womansplain will also illuminate the iconic Times Square, cementing its place in the urban landscape.

The recent Summit held at The Malin Chelsea in New York saw tremendous turnout, with 117 attendees gathering to listen to industry leaders, participate in panels, workshops, and witness the first-ever Womansplain Awards. With keynotes from prominent figures such as Stephanie Guild, Chief Investment Officer of Robinhood, the event fostered connections that can ignite the next wave of women-led innovation.

Brooke Sowa, co-founder of Womansplain, expressed the mission behind the initiative: “When we started Womansplain, we encountered phenomenal women being overlooked in discussions. Almost three years later, these remarkable founders are now represented on billboards across three states, reminding everyone of their invaluable contributions.”

Sowa and Sola Park, who both built their careers in finance, have turned Womansplain into a pivotal platform for female entrepreneurs. The podcast itself has seen impressive growth, boasting over 70 episodes and more than 400,000 views and downloads. Also, the community of more than 6,500 members includes founders who have collectively raised over $1 billion.

Sola Park further commented on the inequity faced by women in entrepreneurship, saying, “Luck plays a role, but it’s about being in the right rooms at the right times. Women often get less exposure and fewer introductions. Womansplain is here to change that narrative by ensuring that female founders are not just heard but are visible.”

As season 7 of the Womansplain podcast is now live, it features insightful conversations, including one with Allyse Cirillo, the founder of luxury skincare brand SAINT JŌ. The podcast is available on popular platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

Womansplain continues to innovate and provide resources for women navigating the challenging landscape of entrepreneurship. Through their newsletter, community membership, and in-person networking events, they are dedicated to connecting women with the capital, mentorship, and support they need to thrive.
