Overview of the Initiative
Manies Group Inc. has announced its ongoing partnership with JR West Japan Real Estate Development Co., a subsidiary of the JR West Group, to support the development of solar power plants and the establishment of an off-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) scheme. This collaboration marks the launch of a second renewable energy project following the first project that began operation in October 2025, supplying energy to the new Hiroshima station building, "Minamoa."
This initiative directly supports JR West's ambitious long-term environmental goal, "JR West Group Zero Carbon 2050," aiming to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across the entire group by 2050. The project's significance plays a crucial role in this objective by utilizing idle land owned by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) for solar power generation. Furthermore, JR West Japan Real Estate Development will manage the solar power plants, while the generated renewable energy will be supplied to the Hiroshima station building "Minamoa" through China SC Development Co.
With the commencement of the second project, the renewable energy supply system for "Minamoa" will be further reinforced alongside the first project, accelerating the transition towards a decarbonized operation.
Comprehensive Support from Manies Group
From the inception of this project, Manies Group has provided comprehensive development support, including evaluating the project's profitability, selecting EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors, and operating and maintenance (O&M) service providers, as well as designing the off-site PPA scheme. Our team has also facilitated smooth decision-making processes within the JR West Group.
Even after the project launches, we will continue to manage the operations to ensure stable functioning of the power plants.
Commitment to Sustainable Development
Looking ahead, Manies Group will persist in its supportive role for JR West Japan Real Estate Development, aiding in the attainment of JR West Group's long-term environmental goals while contributing to the realization of a sustainable, decarbonized society. This commitment aligns with our shared vision for a future where business and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.
