Special Guest: Piano Performance
We are honored to invite Ryo Asano, the representative of the NPO 'Oto Todokemono', who is not only a physician but also a pianist. He actively engages in home medical care and palliative medicine while performing at hospitals, elder care facilities, support centers for people with disabilities, children's cafeterias, and special support schools.
Background and Purpose of the Initiative
In Japan, the aging population is steadily increasing, with a rising number of elderly individuals without family support. By 2050, it is estimated that the number of elderly people without children could exceed 10 million, among which over 4 million may have no familial support. In light of these circumstances, many elderly individuals are unable to secure necessary guarantors when admitted to hospitals or care facilities, resulting in unaccessed essential services.
In addressing the loneliness and risk of solitary deaths among the elderly living alone, Akari Hoshou believes that collaboration among service providers supporting these individuals is more effective than tackling the issue alone. Consequently, Akari Hoshou established 'Shuu Support' as a platform for service providers supporting the elderly to connect, learn, and collaborate. Through this community, we aim to foster knowledge sharing and build a robust support network.
