About the Workshop
This collaboration between Tsumugi Kamakura Café and Art Moriya is part of an innovative project merging indigo dyeing with modern craftsmanship. Participants are encouraged to think differently about old clothing that might otherwise be discarded. Instead, bring along a faded T-shirt or a nostalgic dress to be rejuvenated into a fresh, personalized item. The indigo dye used in this workshop is sourced from beautiful, organically grown indigo plants in Fujisawa, Shonan.
During the dyeing process, you will be able to take your dyed items home in a state ready for drying, marking the gentle transformation that takes place during the workshop. Historically, indigo has served not only as a dye but also as a herb, emphasizing its cultural significance.
