FANCL Organizes a Summer Skincare Workshop for Kids
FANCL held an engaging summer workshop titled
FANCL CLEAR UP Summer Skincare Class for elementary students and their parents at the flagship FANCL Ginza Square. The event, which took place on August 5 and 6, 2025, aimed to educate participants on the importance of skincare during the pre-adolescent phase. Over the two days, a total of 79 people participated, including influencers, media representatives, and members of FANCL's parental support program, the Mama Papa Smile Program.
Learning About the Skin: Structure and Function
The workshop began with an informative session on the fundamentals of skin—what it is and its vital functions. Participants were introduced to the fascinating world of skin, starting with a scientific explanation.
Children were given the opportunity to observe their skin under a microscope, examining skin texture in real-time. They also used a “Skin Checker” to measure moisture and oil levels, enabling them to visually and numerically assess their skin condition. This interactive approach fostered a deeper understanding of their skin's health.
Moreover, the workshop emphasized the unique characteristics of children's skin, addressing common misconceptions held by parents. While many believe that children's skin is inherently flawless, the reality is that during childhood, oil production can significantly increase, resulting in different hydration levels compared to adults. The children learned that their delicate skin is more prone to dryness and UV damage, underscoring the importance of skincare at a young age.
Practical Skincare Techniques
In the practical segment of the workshop, participants explored proper washing and moisturizing techniques using the
FANCL Clear Up product line. This hands-on experience allowed participants to apply what they had learned and experience the effects of skincare directly. By measuring their moisture and oil levels before and after their skincare routine, they could see a noticeable difference, reinforcing the significance of daily skincare practices.
Understanding UV Rays: Knowledge and Precautions
The finale of the workshop educated participants about ultraviolet (UV) rays. Using illustrations and engaging quizzes, the instructor explained the basics of UV exposure and its dangers. The workshop highlighted that UV levels are not just high in summer but also in spring, and that they are steadily increasing each year. It was noted that UV levels peak around noon, coinciding with children's outdoor playtime.
Participants also learned about effective sun protection, including how sunscreen works. They engaged in practical demonstrations and ultimately applied the
Clear Up UV Cut Stick themselves, taking their first steps toward independently managing UV protection.
Commitment to Future Generations
FANCL is dedicated to providing ongoing educational opportunities for families navigating the skincare challenges presented during the preadolescent phase. The aim is to equip both children and their caregivers with accurate knowledge and effective skincare habits.
