Chick-fil-A Announces Historic Scholarship Awards
In a remarkable commitment to education, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has recently disclosed its decision to award over
$27 million in scholarships for the year 2025. This substantial sum is aimed at aiding
more than 15,000 Team Members and notable community leaders within North America, marking a record-breaking contribution to the field of education by the company.
Educational Investment
This year's scholarship initiative is branded under the
Remarkable Futures Scholarships, which represent Chick-fil-A's focus on bolstering the educational and professional goals of its employees and community figures. During an event in
Puerto Rico, CEO
Andrew T. Cathy presented the very first
$25,000 scholarship to
Nileika Cherena, an employee at Chick-fil-A La Rambla. This gesture underscores Chick-fil-A’s dedication to recognizing the hard work of its Team Members and the communities they serve.
In total,
thirteen Team Members received the impressive
$25,000 scholarship, and additional scholarships of up to
$2,500 were awarded to
over 15,000 individuals across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. Furthermore,
twelve community leaders benefited from the Community Scholars program, each receiving
$25,000 for their impressive community service and leadership.
Chick-fil-A’s commitment to education extension goes beyond monetary assistance, pledging to have impacted
69,000 lives since 2020 through their educational initiatives, surpassing their corporate social responsibility goal of helping
50,000 Team Member lives.
Transformation Through Education
According to Cathy, “Chick-fil-A is deeply committed to investing in the remarkable futures of both Chick-fil-A Team Members and community leaders,” highlighting that the company believes strongly in the life-changing potential of education. Each scholarship award is seen as a step toward enabling these individuals to achieve their aspirations and make a positive impact in their respective communities.
The history of Chick-fil-A's scholarship program dates back to
1973 when it first began offering financial assistance for education. To date, more than
122,000 Team Members have received over
$215 million in
Remarkable Futures Scholarships. More recently, since
2021,
37 community leaders have collectively secured
$925,000 through the Chick-fil-A Community Scholars program.
An insightful survey conducted in 2024 indicated that
21.3% of the scholarship recipients identified as first-generation college students, bringing focus to Chick-fil-A's positive impact on underrepresented groups pursuing higher education.
Future Applications
As part of their ongoing commitment, Chick-fil-A is set to open applications for the
2026 Remarkable Futures scholarships and the
Chick-fil-A Community Scholars program in August 2025. This initiative continues to highlight the company's dedication to fostering educational growth and access for their Team Members and surrounding communities.
