Reju Announces New Textile Regeneration Hub Location in Lacq, France

On February 13, 2026, Reju, a French company dedicated to textile regeneration in a circular economy model, proudly announced the selection of Lacq, located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, as the site for its new large-scale textile regeneration hub. This initiative is part of Reju's mission to address the global textile waste crisis, which sees a staggering 121 million tons of textiles discarded each year, with only 1% being recycled back into new items. The majority ends up in landfills or is incinerated, posing significant environmental challenges.

The new textile regeneration center seeks to bolster France's position as a leader in industrial innovation within the circular economy and carbon footprint reduction. Leveraging the engineering expertise from its parent company, Technip Energies, Reju plans to introduce advanced closed-loop technologies into the French textile industry. The facility will implement Reju's proprietary depolymerization technology, which allows for post-consumer textiles from local waste streams to be transformed into rBHET, a recycled material suitable for producing new polyester from textile waste. This is then repolymerized into Reju PET.

The project's progression hinges on the final investment decision from Technip Energies, reinforcing France's role as a trailblazer in this strategic sector and fostering the creation of a new local industry aimed at decarbonization. The initiative is expected to generate 80 direct jobs and over 300 indirect jobs.

This project builds on existing efforts from Reju, including the Regeneration Zero initiative in Frankfurt, the previously announced site in Chemelot in Sittard-Geleen, Netherlands, and the recently announced center in the United States, which will be located at Eastman Business Park in Rochester, New York.

The regeneration hub will be situated on the Induslacq platform, owned by TotalEnergies.
