A Unique Art Experience: atré collaborates with HERALBONY for 'Connecting Landscapes' Exhibition

atré Meets HERALBONY: "Connecting Landscapes" Exhibition

From January 20 to May 10, 2026, various atré locations will display the enchanting exhibition titled 'atré meets HERALBONY: Connecting Landscapes.' This collaborative project between HERALBONY, led by Co-CEOs Takumi Matsuda and Fumito Matsuda, and JR East Group's atré, represented by President Hiroyuki Takahashi, aims to celebrate the beauty of interconnectedness through art.

About the Exhibition

The main highlight of this exhibition is the remarkable original artwork titled 'Connecting Landscapes' by award-winning artist RINAKO IKUTA, who won the JR East Award at the HERALBONY Art Prize 2025. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to engage with Ikuta's creative journey, along with a selection of her past works displayed in specially crafted showcases. Through this exhibition, attendees are invited to partake in an experience that embodies the concept of 'connection' through the lens of art.

The Idea Behind the Collaboration

This co-creation project arose from the shared vision of HERALBONY and atré, which aims to blend the worlds of art and culture with everyday commuting spaces. As atré expresses, the concept of small pieces coming together to form grand scenery resonates with their mission of connecting people, communities, and cultures. This shared ethos signifies a commitment to creating 'connected landscapes' within everyday environments.

Understanding the Artist and her Award-Winning Work

RINAKO IKUTA, an artist inspired by her childhood experiences, particularly recalls her journey across the Eurasian continent by train, which left a lasting impact on her creative process. Her innovative use of sandpaper as a canvas, combined with colored pencils, allows her to create vivid and intuitive imagery infused with emotions and rhythm. Her award-winning piece, 'Connecting Landscapes,' is a collection of ten drawings composed on sandpaper, each reflecting inspirations drawn from her friends and music.
