James J. Hudgens Takes the Helm at UL Research Institutes
On June 16, 2025, UL Research Institutes officially announced the appointment of Dr. James (Jim) J. Hudgens as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 23. Dr. Hudgens steps into this pivotal role with a rich background in advanced technology and over 25 years of experience in national security research. Prior to his new position, he served as senior vice president and director of the Georgia Tech Research Institute, where he successfully oversaw a team of more than 3,000 and achieved an impressive revenue growth of nearly 90% during his five-year tenure.
In his new position, Hudgens is expected to lead UL Research Institutes towards advancing its long-term strategies and enhancing both internal and external partnerships.
