Explore 'Irosabi' at Wako in Ginza

Wako Co., Ltd., located in the heart of Tokyo's upscale Ginza district, will host the captivating exhibition 'Irosabi' from August 1 to 20, 2025. This event marks the first presentation of 'Irosabi' in Japan, curated by the renowned model and creative director Hikari Mori under the project 'tefutefu'. The exhibition will be held in the basement Arts and Culture area of Wako, creating a unique space for cultural exchange.

The essence of 'tefutefu' lies in re-evaluating the aesthetics of life, focusing on Japan's rich history and traditions in relation to clothing, food, and shelter. The 'Irosabi' exhibition will emphasize the beauty of colors born from the interplay of materials, techniques, and time, offering a special display and sales event. This homage to color is deeply rooted in Japanese culture and is envisioned to highlight the serene beauty of colors emanating from the traces of time contained within materials and craftsmanship.

The concept of 'Irosabi' relates to the bond formed between objects and the passage of time in human life, shedding light on how items acquire distinctive characteristics and charm over time. It invites visitors to appreciate fleeting colors that appear in a constantly changing world. Traditional craftspeople and artists, who blend old-world techniques with contemporary perspectives, will take center stage at this unique exhibition.

In celebration of the first anniversary of the Arts and Culture space, Wako will also showcase works from various artists with whom they have collaborated closely over the years. This gives visitors an opportunity to experience the intersection of emotion and culture in a dedicated space that can bring forth exceptional exhibitions.

Director’s Message

As the sun rises and sets, and leaves decay into the soil, I've named this beauty 'Irosabi'. Life, color, and emotions all breathe within time. My experiences as a fashion model have allowed me to encounter global craftsmanship, revealing how the deepening layers of time resonate with Japanese aesthetic values.
