New Study Reveals Impact of Digital Creators on Premium Video Advertising Effectiveness

Digital Creators and Their Role in Premium Video Advertising

In a groundbreaking report released by the Video Advertising Bureau (VAB), research highlights the increasing influence of digital creators on advertising effectiveness within premium video platforms. This research, conducted in collaboration with Hub Entertainment Research, reveals not only the strong connection between viewers and creators but also how this relationship translates into significant brand outcomes for advertisers.

Understanding the Trend

In June 2026, a survey involving 1,600 respondents aged 16 to 74 was conducted to understand the dynamics between digital creators and advertisement engagement. The findings are compelling: 55% of individuals aged 16 and older actively follow at least one digital creator. This trend spans various generations, showing a high following rate among younger demographics: 84% of those aged 16-24 and 83% of those aged 25-34 are invested in digital creators. Comparatively, the numbers drop among older generations but remain significant at 54% for ages 35-54 and 23% for those aged 55-74.

These statistics reveal that digital creators have become mainstream influencers, effectively bridging generational gaps and extending their reach across various age groups.

How Creators Affect Brand Engagement

The findings further indicate that featuring digital creators in television or streaming content significantly boosts viewer engagement with advertisements. Notably, 50% of viewers who follow digital creators reported being more attentive to brands promoted in shows featuring these creators. This enhanced attention correlates with increased purchasing intent, where 48% express heightened consideration for advertised brands.

What’s even more striking is that 52% of respondents indicate they are more likely to search for brands appearing alongside creators they admire. The final step in this consumer journey demonstrates that 43% are more likely to purchase products or services connected to these creators, showcasing a direct path from engagement to sales.

This potential not only drives sales but also transforms viewers into advocates; 41% stated they would recommend brands featured alongside their preferred creators to friends and family.

The Broader Implications

According to Leah Pujalte, VP of Audience Behavioral Insights at VAB, this shift towards creator-centric content on premium platforms highlights a pivotal opportunity for marketers. “Digital creator engagement cuts across generations. Audiences are eager for more creator-focused content on premium video platforms, creating value beyond mere social media tactics,” she notes.

Marketers are recognizing that the expectations for advertising have evolved. The demand for scale, quality, reliability, and brand safety has led to deeper connections between brands and creators. Premium video platforms, therefore, present a unique environment that marries high engagement levels and robust data-driven outcomes, making them appealing to both creators and advertisers.

Conclusion

As the landscape of digital advertising continues to evolve, the findings of this research emphasize the necessity for brands to leverage the credibility and reach of digital creators. It’s not just about creating content; it’s about fostering relationships that drive engagement and translate directly into measurable results. The VAB’s report is an essential read for anyone involved in marketing and branding strategies within the fast-paced video advertising space.
