Experience a Unique Collaboration at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo with Eco-Cloud Garden and Nihon’s First Manga

A Unique Collaboration in Tokyo:

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is set to unveil a captivating experience starting July 1, 2026, with the launch of an evolved garden mist show called "Tokyo Unkai - Yakumo." This event celebrates the collaboration with Japan's national treasure, "Tori Jū Giga," famously known as Japan's oldest manga, featuring its playful characters, the rabbit and the frog, engaging in whimsical activities within a cloud sea.

The Artistic Fusion of Tradition and Fantasy

The limited-edition merchandise showcases original illustrations of these beloved characters, bringing to life their antics of playing on, swimming through, and frolicking in clouds. This creative blend of the enchanting world of "Tokyo Unkai" and the humorous charm of "Tori Jū Giga" offers a unique experience unique to Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, enticing visitors with delightful interactions between traditional culture and modern art.

Originally from Takao-ji Temple in Kyoto, "Tori Jū Giga" depicts anthropomorphized animals like rabbits and frogs participating in various playful activities such as swimming and sumo wrestling, giving it the title of Japan's oldest comic. On the other hand, "Tokyo Unkai" began in 2020 and has continuously transformed the garden landscape, creating breathtaking scenic views throughout the seasons. The summer of 2026 will introduce an enhanced version, “Tokyo Unkai - Yakumo,” to coincide with this cultural celebration.

Unique Souvenirs to Embrace the Experience

Fittingly, the limited-edition products include a portable “Original Thermo Bottle (130ml)” and a delightful selection of treats known as "Fukiyose," filled with the playful concept of rabbits and frogs. The “Fukiyose” features cloud-shaped cookies and confections, capturing the essence of playfulness as the characters ride on and swim through imaginary clouds. This joyful representation is crafted to elicit smiles, making it a perfect treat for visitors.

The original thermo bottle presents the interactive characters engaged in playful cloud adventures, adding a touch of serenity to our daily tea time or outings.

Seasonal Dining Experience: Summer Dinner Buffet

In addition, to mark the unveiling of “Tokyo Unkai - Yakumo,” the hotel will host the “Mejiro Forest Summer Dinner Buffet,” scheduled for July 3 and 4, 2026. Guests will enjoy an exquisite buffet featuring Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisines alongside delightful desserts. Moreover, attendees will receive a limited edition “Tokyo Unkai - Yakumo × Tori Jū Giga” mini towel as a special souvenir.
