Indonesia's #GoBeyondOrdinary Campaign Shines at ITB Berlin 2026 Event
At the ITB Berlin 2026, the largest B2B tourism exhibition globally, Indonesia proudly showcased its #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign, reaffirming its commitment to providing exceptional tourism experiences. Led by the Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, the initiative underlines Indonesia's unique position as a stunning destination offering not just visual beauty but also high-quality, immersive tourism.
Minister Wardhana opened the Indonesian Pavilion at Messe Berlin, which spans an impressive 441 square meters, making it one of Indonesia's most prominent participations in recent years. Designed to highlight the country’s rich tourism offerings, the pavilion features diverse themes such as marine tourism, gastronomy, wellness, and Muslim-friendly packages.
As part of the #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign, the Ministry emphasizes 'Quality Tourism,' which focuses on inclusivity, sustainability, and collaboration within the tourism ecosystem. This initiative encourages all participants to engage in responsible tourism practices while interacting meaningfully with local cultures. The participation of over 91 tourism players from 11 provinces showcases the country's vast cultural diversity and the strength of collaboration within the industry.
"Your presence here is proof that Indonesia’s tourism is thriving through hard work and trust," Minister Wardhana commented, highlighting the collaborative successes that define Indonesia's tourism growth.
Furthermore, the ITB Berlin 2026 serves as a strategic opportunity for promoting Muslim-friendly tourism, which has been increasingly popular among global travelers. The Minister noted, "With its array of attractions, Indonesia offers tourism experiences that forge personal connections with visitors through meaningful engagement with local communities, deep cultural richness, and authentic traditions."
The Ministry of Tourism aims to capitalize on this international platform to increase foreign exchange earnings significantly, targeting between IDR 12.9 and 14.3 trillion and projecting the potential for 498,000 to 541,000 tourist transactions as a result of participation in this mega exhibition.
During her visit, Minister Wardhana also plans to engage with the Rumah Budaya Indonesia (RBI), managed by the Indonesian Embassy, enhancing cultural ties between Indonesia and Germany through artistic exchanges and cultural programs. This step signifies the ongoing commitment to not only promote tourism but also strengthen cultural diplomacy through shared experiences.
Indonesia continues to prove itself as a dynamic and versatile landmark in global tourism, looking beyond the ordinary to ensure that every visitor departs with extraordinary memories and experiences that resonate long after their trips end. The campaign reflects the nation’s vision of an inclusive, sustainable future in tourism, promising exciting prospects for travelers and the economy alike.
