Shogo Kariyazaki's World Exhibition
The renowned Ikebana master, Shogo Kariyazaki, known for his profound influence in the flower arrangement art, will showcase his works in a special exhibition titled "The World of Ikebana Master Shogo Kariyazaki". This event will take place at the Honma Museum and Seienkan in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture, from November 13 to November 24, 2025.
A Glimpse of History
Established in the post-war era, the Honma Museum was founded by the prominent Honma family, which was known as the largest landowners in Japan. The Seienkan, built as a villa, has historic significance as it was used as a rest house for the feudal lord Sakai during his inspections and even hosted the crown prince (later Emperor Showa) in 1925. The exquisite Kyoto-style architecture of Seienkan and the modern furnishings reminiscent of the Taisho Romantic era provide a beautiful backdrop for Kariyazaki's Ikebana creations, promising a stunning visual experience.
