'Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 CHARISMAX VI' Qualifiers Announced

Japan's leading dance event, the `Mynavi DANCEALIVE`, will host its eminent solo dance battle qualifiers titled `CHARISMAX VI` on February 11, 2026, at Shinjuku Face, Tokyo. Managed by Anomaly Inc. and led by CEO Kantarou Kanda, this event marks another significant step in what has become the world's largest platform for solo street dance battles.

Overview of the Event

The upcoming qualifiers promise to be a spectacular gathering of talent, starting at 11:00 AM with doors opening for spectators. The competitive spirit will unfold with the first performances kicking off at noon, culminating in an electrifying finale slated for 7:30 PM. For more details regarding event rules and timings, participants and viewers can visit the official schedule at Dance Alive Japan.

What is 'Mynavi DANCEALIVE'?

Initiated in 2005 as `DANCE@LIVE` in Japan, `Mynavi DANCEALIVE` has evolved into the world's largest one-on-one street dance battle. Participants face off in a direct showdown, dancing in sync with music selected by the DJ. What makes this battle unique is the unpredictability of the tracks, as they are known only to the DJ, making the competition more thrilling. Victory goes to the dancer who secures the most votes from the judges, following simplistic yet engaging rules.

The competition spans over six categories, with a structured process from preliminary rounds to finals. The GENERAL category encompasses five styles: HOUSE, BREAKING, HIPHOP, ALL STYLES, and POPPING, while a separate KIDS division for under junior high students showcases all styles. The qualifiers will unfold across eight regions in Japan, from Hokkaido and Tohoku to Kyushu, giving talented dancers a shot at reaching the finals scheduled for April.

Upcoming Events for 'Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026'

As part of the lead-up to the grand final, here are the additional events:
  • - February 7, 2026: `Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 POPPING KANTO II`
  • - February 21, 2026: `Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 POPPING KANSAI II`
  • - April 18, 2026: Pre-final qualifiers
  • - April 19, 2026: Final event at Ryogoku Kokugikan

More on the GENERAL Category

In the GENERAL category, participants must be at least 15 years old at the time of entry, excluding junior high school third-year students. It’s noteworthy that if a competitor qualifies for the FINAL in the KIDS division and has graduated junior high by April 2026, they cannot participate in the pre-final qualifiers. The competition features solo dance battles across five genres in a 1-on-1 format. To qualify for the finals, dancers must win in their respective categories throughout the season.

  • - Dancers are allowed to enter multiple genres on the same day, translating to multiple opportunities in the finals. Notably, those who secure second place in the POPPING qualification also get a spot in the finals.

Altogether, there will be seven qualifying rounds across the season with CHARISMAX events facilitating four styles occurring on the same day. The competitions will span five regions across Japan, removing local entry restrictions to encourage widespread participation.

As the event draws nearer, anticipation is mounting within the dance community. With seasoned dancers and enthusiastic newcomers alike taking part, the `Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 CHARISMAX VI` promises to be a mesmerizing showcase of talent and creativity for dance enthusiasts and participants globally.
