Dr. Longhurst, a recognized leader in pediatric healthcare, emphasized his excitement about leading an institution renowned for its commitment to children and families. He previously served as Chief Clinical and Innovation Officer at UC San Diego Health, where he spent the last decade making strides in healthcare delivery and innovation. His impressive background also includes 15 years at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, where he played a key role in improving pediatric care.

Kurt Shintaffer, Chair of the Board of Trustees, expressed confidence in Dr. Longhurst's ability to guide Seattle Children's into the future, citing his unique combination of clinical expertise, research, and digital strategy.
