The First New York Korean Independent Film Festival (NYKIFF)
The Korean Cultural Center New York (KCCNY) is thrilled to announce the
1st New York Korean Independent Film Festival (NYKIFF), scheduled from
October 15 to October 25, 2026, at the KCCNY Theater. This landmark event will showcase an impressive selection of
10 feature films and 5 short films, representing the unique and dynamic voices within Korean independent cinema. The festival aims to open new avenues for the international screening of exceptional Korean films while fostering meaningful conversations between local audiences and Korean filmmakers.
Bridging Cultures
Korea's independent film scene has witnessed a surge of creativity and diversity, producing works that resonate well beyond borders. However, limited opportunities for exhibition and distribution have often hindered many films from reaching wider audiences. The
NYKIFF endeavors to bridge this gap by providing a prominent platform in New York, thereby enhancing visibility for these films and their creators on the global stage.
Collaborating with distinguished Korean film festivals such as the
Seoul Independent Film Festival and the
Jeonju International Film Festival, the festival features a program developed through meaningful partnerships, presenting a carefully curated lineup of cinematic talent.
