TRUFAST® Unveils the TruBond™ Induction Weld System
TRUFAST®, an industry leader in technical building envelope solutions, has launched their latest innovation: the
TruBond™ Induction Weld (IW) system. This cutting-edge system has been meticulously designed to mechanically attach insulation or coverboards to roofing decks through a non-penetrating method. It specifically targets the needs of single-ply membrane installations, creating a robust, induction-welded bond between the membrane and the
TRUFAST IW Plate.
With this new system, TRUFAST has effectively addressed long-standing concerns regarding membrane penetrations, which can compromise the integrity of roofing structures. Instead, the TruBond IW system enhances rooftop installation efficiency while ensuring security and stability. Speaking about the innovative system,
Nick Eschhofen, Senior Engineer at TRUFAST, noted, "Engineered to keep projects on schedule without sacrificing performance, the TruBond IW system offers a more efficient installation solution.”
The TruBond IW provides a significant advantage with its
lightweight design and user-friendly features, including a
compact weld head that improves maneuverability on rooftops. This helps reduce operator fatigue, allowing personnel to focus on delivering high-quality installations. The TruBond Induction Weld kit includes eight heat sink magnets with interchangeable handles, tailored for various membrane applications like PVC, TPA, and TPO.
Key Features of the TruBond IW System
1.
Compact Weld Head: Facilitates precise plate alignment and contributes to consistent weld quality across multiple applications.
2.
Intuitive Controls: The system includes a large touchscreen interface with a status indicator LED, ensuring ease of use and accessibility.
3.
Safety Features: A fault detection system alerts installers if a plate is not situated correctly under the membrane, enhancing safety during operation.
4.
Multi-Language Instructions: Designed to accommodate a diverse workforce, instructions are provided in multiple languages.
5.
Easy Activation: The activation switch is conveniently located on the weld head handle for quick accessibility during installations.
6.
Portability: With features like a long single-piece and short handle for parapet wall applications, it offers flexibility and ease to workers on the roof.
TRUFAST IW Plates have a diameter of approximately
3-3/8 inches and are compatible with various roof deck materials including steel, wood, and structural concrete. They work seamlessly with TRUFAST fasteners to meet project-specific ratings and requirements as specified by applicable code bodies or membrane manufacturers.
Distribution and Support
The TruBond IW system will be distributed and serviced by
Hapco Inc., ensuring access to technical resources and support for contractors utilizing this advanced system. This launch further solidifies TRUFAST’s commitment to providing high-quality, innovative solutions within the commercial roofing sector.
