Discover the 1st Labor Shortage Expo in Tokyo

From June 4 to June 6, 2025, the Tokyo Big Sight will host an event focused on addressing one of Japan’s most pressing challenges: labor shortages. The inaugural Labor Shortage Expo aims to create a platform for companies facing workforce challenges to discover innovative solutions and strategies. This expo is not just an ordinary event; it’s a gathering of ideas that will potentially reshape the future of the Japanese economy.

What to Expect at the Expo

The Labor Shortage Expo, organized by the Labor Shortage Expo Executive Committee, will offer an array of solutions designed to tackle labor shortages affecting various sectors in Japan. Concurrently, two other exhibitions—BREX, which focuses on construction and real estate, and ODEX, dedicated to the promotion of digital transformation—will facilitate a synergistic environment for voice matching between exhibitors and visitors.

Among the array of exhibitors, Persol Innovation, under the banner of Comic Learning Company, will be highlighting their unique Comic Learning training service. This innovative approach employs comic-based educational materials to enhance employee engagement and learning outcomes. On June 6th, at 3 PM, Persol Innovation will also host a seminar titled “The Key to Employee Retention is Learning!”, which aims to provide insights on how appropriate learning and workplace culture can lead to better employee retention.

Seminar Highlights

During the seminar, participants will gain valuable knowledge on preventing harassment and improving the supervisor-subordinate relationship through effective communication techniques. Real-world examples will be shared to demonstrate how comic-based learning can instigate behavioral changes that contribute to a healthier workplace environment and higher retention rates. This session promises to be enlightening for HR professionals, managers, and anyone interested in developing a thriving organizational culture.

To attend, pre-registration is required. You can register through the official website, and attendees will receive complimentary access to case studies and additional materials related to labor shortages.

Meet the Experts

Yuko Hayashi, a seasoned educational designer with a Master's in Management Information Systems, will be leading the seminar. Having extensive experience in developing training programs for businesses, Yuko is passionate about leveraging creative methods to facilitate learning and harness the power of storytelling in education. Her expertise will be invaluable in guiding attendees through the practical applications of Comic Learning.

What is Comic Learning?

Launched in August 2021, Comic Learning aims to provide workshops that truly resonate with participants. It harnesses the engaging nature of comic books, making learning accessible and enjoyable. Companies that adopted this training program have noted increased engagement and improved compliance awareness among their staff, which, in turn, enhances overall customer satisfaction.
