The Rise in Awareness of the Deaflympics in Tokyo



In a remarkable development, awareness of the Deaflympics has surged to 73.1% among Tokyo residents, a significant increase from the previous level of 39.0%. This encouraging data stems from a recent survey conducted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The primary objective of this survey was to gauge the current state of sports activities among Tokyo's residents and to inform future sports promotion policies.

The Survey Findings



The survey, which targeted individuals aged 18 and older residing in Tokyo, collected responses through a combination of mail and online submissions. A total of 1,448 samples were analyzed during the survey period from November 15 to December 12. Among the key topics addressed in the survey was the recognition of the Deaflympics, alongside the rates of sports participation among citizens.

This significant increase in awareness can be attributed to various collaborative efforts from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
