Meijer Opens New Supermarket in Fishers: A Highlights Overview

Today marks a significant milestone for the Fishers community in Indiana, as Meijer officially opened its newest supermarket, spanning an impressive 75,000 square feet. This latest addition is set to elevate the shopping experience for residents by offering a wide array of fresh food products and convenient shopping solutions. Located at 15700 Southeastern Parkway, the new store becomes Meijer's sixth location in the Midwest and the second in Indiana, following the establishment in nearby Noblesville which opened in 2024.

Meijer's new Fishers store caters to customers' diverse needs by including essential sections such as fresh produce, packaged foods, daily cut meats, and an in-store bakery where skilled bakers create and decorate cakes right on site. Customers will also find a full-service deli, a pharmacy, beauty products, baby and pet items, party supplies, and a selection of flowers. True to Meijer’s commitment to local sourcing, the store features a Local Favorites display showcasing products made right in Indiana, including beloved items like Copper Moon coffee, Triple XXX root beer, and Just Pop In popcorn.

Hank Meijer, the company's Executive Chairman, expressed excitement regarding the new store, noting, "This new Meijer store will bring convenience and enhanced value to the Fishers community right at their doorstep. We understand how important value is to our customers, especially in today’s economy, and our team will continue to strive to provide high-quality items at the best possible prices."

Among the valuable customer offerings, the supermarket introduces mPerks rewards, which allow shoppers to earn points on every dollar spent. These points can be exchanged for in-store coupons or redeemed for additional discounts on fuel at Meijer Express gas stations. Additionally, customers can enjoy special deals on frequently purchased items through the app's selection of coupons. To further enhance convenience, Meijer provides grocery delivery services and curbside pickup, along with Shop & Scan, a system that enables customers to scan barcodes and pack their groceries while shopping.

As part of its large selection, the Fishers Meijer will feature popular store brands such as "Frederik’s by Meijer" and "True Goodness." Frederik’s, known for its premium product lines, offers unique and authentic flavors inspired by the retailer’s founder, Fred Meijer. On the other hand, True Goodness is celebrated for its commitment to providing responsibly sourced items without over 100 specific ingredients, helping customers make informed daily choices.

During the grand opening, Store Director Janice Thongvanh welcomed customers with applause, marking the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Reflecting Meijer’s dedication to community engagement, the store announced a donation of $15,000 to local organizations, including the Fishers Youth Initiative, which supports mentoring and resources for young people and families. Moreover, contributions were made to the Good Samaritan Network to aid residents facing hardships in Hamilton County.

Rick Keyes, Meijer’s President and CEO, emphasized the company’s longstanding commitment to giving back, stating, "Supporting the communities we serve is a top priority and this commitment starts well before a store opens. We are thrilled that this new location will enhance the community by providing a convenient shopping alternative and acting as an invaluable community partner."

In efforts to ensure accessibility for all patrons, the Fishers store has been designed with wider, adjustable-height changing tables in family restrooms to provide greater comfort and dignity for customers with disabilities and their caregivers. Additionally, just like all Meijer locations, the store offers free access to Aira, an app-based service providing real-time navigation assistance for visually impaired customers through their smartphone cameras.

Meijer, a private, family-owned retailer, boasts over 500 supercenters and stores across the Midwest. Established as a pioneer in one-stop shopping, Meijer employs over 70,000 individuals dedicated to delivering a pleasant shopping experience both in-store and online. The company consistently donates at least 6% of its net profits to community organizations and collaborates with local food banks to combat hunger. Through its Simply Give program, Meijer has raised over $100 million for local food banks since 2008. The Fishers store's food pantry partner is Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank, which will receive donations from the retail chain's holiday campaign running until December 26.
